OCWA Earns Marine Award for Innovative Carbon Dosing System

We are proud to announce that OCWA’s operations team has been honored with the OCWA Marine Award for their development and implementation of a cutting-edge carbon dosing system at the Union Water Treatment Plant.

This innovative system replaces traditional mechanical pumps with a vacuum-driven eductor that uses water flow to safely and efficiently deliver carbon slurry into the treatment process. Unlike conventional pumps, this design avoids direct mechanical contact with the abrasive slurry, reducing wear and maintenance needs while handling solids concentrations up to 50%.
