The Great Lakes are the warmest they have been in about 16 years and with the warmer temperatures there has been less ice cover this winter than previous years.  It appears that the ice cover is expected to grow over the next several days as temperatures begin to dip lower.  With improved ice cover there will be less evaporation.  The Weather Network article provides residents with good information to understand what has been happening this winter with the Great Lakes.  Please click here to read more.
