Update: April 27, 2018 – The Essex Water Tower is now fully encapsulated.  Sandblasting is underway to remove the old paint to ensure that the surface of the tank is ready for its fresh coat of paint.  The project is progressing nicely.  For any questions please contact us through this website.

Early April 2018 – Residents of the Town of Essex have probably noticed scaffolding going up around the Essex Water Tower on Forest Avenue.  The Union Water Supply System, in cooperation with OCWA and JDCMI, have undertaken the rehabilitation of the outside and inside of the tower.  The rehab will consist of the removal of the old paint, installation of safety upgrades and a fresh coat of paint and town logo.  The project is expected to take several months due to process of paint removal, which involves encapsulating the tower.  We hope everyone will be pleased with the outcome and also want to assure residents that this project does not affect the water quality in any way.  For any questions please contact us through this website.
